Omnitek to Receive 2 Queen’s Awards
BASINGSTOKE, UK. April 21st 2018 – Omnitek is proud to announce that it is to receive two Queen’s Awards in recognition of the innovation of its video distortion and correction technology and for the export achievements of its Consultancy services and video Test & Measurement products.
These awards are the recognition of excellence of our design team for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) based video and vision processing.
The “Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2018” is for Omnitek’s Warp Intellectual Property (IP) that allows the real time image manipulation of video streams up to 8K resolution at 120 frames per second. The Warp IP is part of Omnitek’s extensive research and FPGA development for use in applications such as virtual reality, augmented reality, projector image warp, camera video stitching, ADAS, medical imaging and Machine Learning/AI.
Roger Fawcett, CEO of Omnitek commented “Omnitek’s highly efficient FPGA device solutions provide a flexible and high-performance alternative to current technologies such as Graphics Processor Unit (GPU), Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) and Application Specific Standard Part (ASSP) solutions.”
The “Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade” further demonstrates Omnitek’s ability to turn innovative research and development into a commercial success, resulting in an average business growth of 35% per annum over four successive years of profitable organic growth.
Omnitek’s growth includes significant contribution from its 4K Test & Measurement products. After on-going market research, Omnitek launched the “Ultra” family of products, giving it a two-year lead over its competition. Ultra units have been sold to Ultra High Definition equipment manufacturers, major broadcasters and post production house around the world.
Michael Hodson, President of Omnitek commented “These awards reflect the excellence of our design team plus the invaluable contribution made by our sales, marketing and production staff. These awards are also especially welcome in our twentieth anniversary year.”
Omnitek is one of 238 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise. And 1 of only 8 who have been recognised for 2 awards.
Now in its 52nd year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for the next five years.
Omnitek will celebrate its award during a royal reception for Queen’s Awards winners in the summer.
