Omnitek Oxford University Research Scholarship
Omnitek has an extensive in-house research and development program which has resulted in the industry-leading first release of the Omnitek DPU. This is being augmented by the Omnitek Oxford University Research Scholarship.
Neural Network based algorithms and the optimum mathematical approach to accelerate them are the subjects of a major international research effort between academia and industry.
In order to ensure the Omnitek DPU continues to deliver the most efficient DNN for its customers’ applications, Omnitek is extending its research capabilities by funding DPhil research students at Oxford University.
Research will be focused around the optimum implementation of machine learning algorithms on FPGAs for inference and training. Resulting improvements to the Omnitek DPU can be made available rapidly to Omnitek’s customers due to the hardware reprogrammability of the FPGA platform.
The DPhil is co-supervised by Oxford University and Omnitek. In keeping with the spirit of open research, key findings of this DPhil work will be published in academic papers.
