Video Specialist Omnitek awarded Xilinx® Premier Status

BASINGSTOKE, UK September 5th 2017 - Omnitek is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the status of Premier Design Services’ Member within the Xilinx Alliance Program.

Mike Hodson, Founder and President of Omnitek, is naturally delighted. “Over the last 15 years or so, we have built an excellent relationship with Xilinx. We have also built up a large portfolio of video IP optimised for Xilinx. The world of video is both very demanding and very fast moving and delivering working systems takes particular engineering skills – ones that are very different from those needed for ASICs. Our partnership with Xilinx has allowed both Omnitek and our customers to respond in a timely manner to the technical challenges posed by ever higher video resolutions and frame rates. I am extremely pleased that we have now been awarded Premier Status.”

Steve Glaser, Sr. Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Marketing at Xilinx, commented: “Omnitek has established themselves as a world-leading development partner for high performance, responsive and reconfigurable video and vision guided intelligent systems. By leveraging the Xilinx Zynq® All Programmable SoCs and MPSoCs with their unique IP, platforms and design services, Omnitek have assisted many of Xilinx’s leading customers in getting to market faster with highly differentiated solutions.”

Mark Bowlby, Director of Ecosystem Strategic Marketing at Xilinx added:”I am impressed by the deep skillset in video processing technology that Omnitek has shown over the fifteen years I have worked with them through the Xilinx Alliance Program. Their new Premier Design Services status is well deserved, based on their robust quality, business and technical processes, along with their commitment to staying current on Xilinx key technologies to the benefit of our mutual customers.”

For Roger Fawcett, CEO of Omnitek, the key to the company’s growing international reputation is in the quality of the staff. “I am extremely proud of our staff and what they achieve. Devices such as Xilinx’s Zynq All-Programmable SoCs and UltraScale™ Multi-Processor SoCs are extremely powerful with many on-chip compute engines – ARM® processors, Mali GPUs and so on – alongside high-speed transceivers and extensive FPGA fabric. I am very pleased at this endorsement from Xilinx that Omnitek engineers have the skills needed to make good use of these devices and look forward to continuing to support systems developers across all the different markets for video with everything from individual IP blocks to turnkey systems.”
