Omnitek Design Services launches new FPGA IP-cores for Broadcast and AV applications, now from glass to glass

BASINGSTOKE, UK. April 13th 2017 – Omnitek’s Design Services and new IP-cores will be presented for Engineering Managers to see the company’s expertise in high resolution video design from camera to display, including lens warp correction, surround view image stitching, raw image signal processing, High Dynamic Range management, scaling, connectivity, and overlay graphics.

Omnitek has established itself as the ‘go to’ company for AV product design and integration, with projects across the growing AV market space but all stemming from its broadcast heritage.

Omnitek will be showing a number of projects this year at NAB including video streaming using new MPSoC devices and projector/camera warp correction IP. These demonstrations will be held alongside Omnitek’s test and measurement product division this year on booth C7915, Central Hall, Las Vegas Convention Centre from 24 th to 27 th April.

The Omnitek warp processor is a highly optimised FPGA solution for creating arbitrary image warps on a real time video stream of up to 4096 x2160 x 60Hz. Maximum image quality is achieved via per pixel filtering and bi-cubic interpolation on 4:4:4 video data at up to 12 bits per colour plane. Alternatively a single warp processor can process multiple HD video images and stitch the resulting videos together for applications such as creating a surround view from multiple cameras or projecting a large image from multiple projectors. The IP core fits into a single mid-range FPGA with a single DDR3 SDRAM interface, providing a highly cost effective solution.

David Ackroyd, Vice President of Business Development at Omnitek, commented “substantial growth in both divisions of our business is due to recognition by more customers of Omnitek’s expertise in delivering ambitious designs at lowest cost and faster times to market. This is reflected in our own test and measurement products which lead the world in their performance and feature sets”

Omnitek will be on booth C7915 in Central hall.
