MTI Film is among the first to choose the Omnitek Ultra XR Waveform Monitor
BASINGSTOKE, UK. September 4th 2016 – Omnitek, specialists in Test and Measurement and IP and design services for the video industry, proudly announces the purchase of multiple Ultra XR units by MTI Film in Hollywood California.
Continuing its success in 12G-SDI product design and 4K system infrastructure testing, Ultra now extends its reach into the operational arena. At NAB 2016 Omnitek launched its new Ultra XR, which provides a sophisticated solution for 4K/UHD content creation, post production and program QC. The Ultra XR provides all of the traditional tools that are expected in these operating areas but engineered specifically with 4K/UHD in mind and supports 12-bit 4:4:4 SDI input formats in YCbCr, RGB, and XYZ, Wide Color Gamut RGB - ITU-R BT.2020 and High Dynamic Range (HDR) inputs - ST2084 / PQ and Hybrid Log Gamma. The picture monitor, true 4K waveform monitor, vectorscope, BT.709 / BT.2020 CIE gamut charts, data / cable views, video timing, audio meters and video / audio / ANC status instruments will be provided as standard for SD to 4K resolutions to support analysis of a wider range of physical interfaces. On the output side, a full resolution monitor output is provided with sophisticated colour management.
Brent Wilson - Senior Engineer at MTI Film commented “MTI Film finds that the feature set and flexibility of the new Ultra XR meets their need to view multi-resolution and HDR waveforms, including PQ Curve scaling and histograms.” Having been among the first customers for the Ultra 4K Toolbox MTI Film is using the added flexibility that Omnitek has provided to add the XR features to their existing Ultra 4K Toolbox while adding an additional three Ultra XR’s to their facility. The operators find the Omnitek line of rasterizers, including the new XR, very easy to navigate enabling them to make necessary changes quickly. The gain of valuable rack space because of the small footprint of the XR is also very helpful..
Tom O’Neill - VP North American Sales & Business Development at Omnitek, commented that “This is an exciting opportunity and we at Omnitek are proud to be able to supply MTI Film with this type of flexibility in an industry leading product”.
Rob Arnold, Head of Worldwide Sales at Omnitek, commented “We’re really excited that MTI Film chose the Ultra XR even before its official launch at NAB earlier this year. Since that launch over 25 XR’s have been sold in the Los Angeles area alone. Omnitek have a proven track record for leading-edge test & measurement equipment and the XR is our fourth generation product. Our engineers’ experience, spread over the past 15 years enables us to provide early solutions for real-world customer requirements, and the Ultra XR is proof of that.”
The Ultra XR will be on display on the Omnitek booth 10.A24 at IBC 2016.
