Xilinx Premier Partner Omnitek showcases H.265 Codec FPGA technology at IBC
BASINGSTOKE, UK September 8th 2017 – Recently awarded Premier Partner status by Xilinx, Omnitek will be presenting its ‘IP with Design’ Service at the International Broadcasting Convention for manufacturers to see the company’s expertise in 4K and higher resolution video design from camera to display, including lens corrections, image stitching, raw sensor and High Dynamic Range processing, scaling, mixing, connectivity and overlay graphics

Omnitek will be showing 4K streaming video over IP – using a Xilinx ‘MPSoC’ device which includes an H.265/H.264 codec – and also its highly successful projector/camera warp correction IP. These demonstrations will be shown alongside Omnitek’s video test and measurement products on stand A24, in Hall 10, RAI Amsterdam from 15th to 19th September.
The Omnitek warp processor is a highly optimised FPGA solution for creating arbitrary image warps on a real time video stream up to 4096×2160 @ 60Hz. Maximum image quality is achieved via per pixel filtering and bi-cubic interpolation on 4:4:4 video data at up to 12 bits per colour plane. Alternatively, a single warp processor can process multiple HD video images and stitch the resulting videos together to create a surround view from multiple cameras. Or images can be warped and blended to project a large image from multiple projectors onto tilted and non-linear surfaces. The IP core fits into a single mid-range FPGA with a single DDR3 SDRAM interface, providing a highly cost effective solution.
