The new OmniTek OTM 1000 provides high precision waveform, vectorscope and gamut displays; real-time picture monitor; comprehensive SDI input status information; audio monitoring capabilities; and SDI physical layer analysis including eye-pattern and jitter displays. The OTM 1000 also contains an optional test signal generator, providing a full range of standard test patterns and zone plates; uncompressed video capture and play-out; gain, noise, bounce and jitter insertion; audio tones, timecode, WSS, video index and SMPTE 352 generation.

The OmniTek XR waveform monitor was designed specifically for colorists, post-production editors, and digital intermediates working with very high resolution HDTV and Dual-Link images. In 2003 OmniTek produced the world’s first native Dual-Link and 2K waveform monitor, and the XR raises the performance of this system to a new standard. The rich feature set and highly configurable display enables the user to customise the output according to their exact requirements. In 2008, we received the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise for the innovations introduced in this monitor.

The OmniTek TQ primarily addresses SD and HD broadcast monitoring applications. The feature set combines the state-of-the-art waveform generation technology with a comprehensive range of audio and video monitoring and logging features. The main graphics display is completely configurable to enable the user to present the exact information required for their monitoring application.

Introducing OmniTek LAB - the world's most comprehensive digital TV test signal generator and data analyzer. Designed to meet the needs of video research and development engineers, it is flexible, programmable, cost-effective, whilst supporting all SDTV and HDTV serial digital video formats. The LAB is unique in providing all the functions of a high-end signal generator totally integrated with a full-featured waveform monitor and video data analyzer. With the LAB, video engineers now have access to a complete test and measurement system in a single, easy-to-use, PC-based package.

The OmniTek PQA is a full-reference picture quality analysis system that provides all the tools necessary for R&D laboratories, broadcasters, and transmission engineers to make deterministic measurements of picture quality. These measurements include PSNR and macro-block detection. The innovative architecture allows video images to be sourced either externally via two multi-format SDI inputs, or internally using the two full-motion uncompressed video sequence generators.

Audio Video Solutions for Altera FPGAs

OmniTek, working in collaboration with Altera, has produced a range of products supporting the development of PCI Express (PCIe)-based video applications implemented on Altera's Stratix IV GX and Arria II GX FPGAs. These 40nm FPGAs feature built-in PCIe Gen 1/Gen 2 hard macros and multiple transceivers.

The key products in the range are:

• A Multi-channel Streaming DMA controller IP block which is available for both the Stratix IV and the Arria II
• An Audio/Video Development Kit for the Altera Arria II

The DMA Controller includes a reference design illustrating the use of the DMA Controller and drivers for Windows Vista and XP. The Arria II AV Development Kit includes a host board and an SDI transceiver card together with a comprehensive IP and reference designs from OmniTek and Altera and 'OpenCore Plus' licences to all the IP enable users to test out applications based on this IP without having to make any further purchase. It therefore provides a virtually risk free way to evaluate both the Altera Arria II GX and the bundled IP.

Audio Video Development Kit for Altera Arria II

The OmniTek Arria II GX Audio Video Development Kit combines Altera’s proven FPGA-based development hardware and associated IP with OmniTek’s expertise in video algorithm IP and PCI Express interface design to offer a PCIe based image and audio processing environment centred on Altera’s Arria II FPGA family.

Multi-Channel Streaming DMA Controller for Altera Stratix IV GX and Arria II GX FPGAs

This PCIe-based DMA Controller features highly-efficient use of the PCIe bus bandwidth. It offers a configurable number of channels of memory-based DMAs and FIFO-based which are more suitable for video or audio streaming. The controller has been designed for implementation in Altera Stratix IV GX or Arria II GX FPGAs and takes advantage of the built-in PCIe hard macros in these devices. The IP is supplied as VHDL or Verilog IP along with C++ windows drivers and an application reference design for the corresponding Altera FPGA AV Dev Kit. The Stratix IV version of the reference design demonstrates bi-directional streaming of four 3G A 1080p video streams over 4 lane Gen2 PCI Express bus.

Xilinx FPGA-based Advanced Video Development Platform (AVDP)

OmniTek's Advanced Video Development Platform is a Xilinx FPGA-based signal processing card specifically targeted at design engineers who need a fast and reliable method to prototype new algorithms and techniques. The package also includes an extensive set of HDL source code for a variety of complex image processing functions, plus a software API and drivers operating under the XP or Vista operating systems.
