Post Production and Digital Cinema
“The OmniTek system gives me the level of detail and analysis that I really need when working in a highly creative, and high-resolution environment that may be video of data orientated.” Steve Shaw - CEO, Digital Praxis
A vast range of image formats are used in post production today. In addition to the plethora of SD and HD resolutions, the DI world is increasing using 2K 4:4:4 formats and beyond. In addition, a variety of different colour spaces are now in use: Rec. 601, Rec. 709, RGB full-range, RGB reduced-range, digital cinema XYZ. Furthermore the image data may be subjected to a variety of compression algorithms.
The OmniTek XR is the ideal post production monitoring tool that caters for these demands. It has all the SDI conformity monitoring with logging and alarms you would expect. More than this the extreme resolution waveforms and histograms provide the exacting feedback required when grading material for a high budget production. The waveform and vector scope zoom and region of interest features enable the colourist to accurately grade to the full 10 bit resolution.
The product has been almost unanimously adopted by colour grading equipment manufacturers to best demonstrate their products. Quantel, Autodesk, Avid, Pandora, and Filmlight are all users of OmniTek equipment. The following list shows some of the high end post production houses who have chosen to adopt OmniTek systems:
