Manufacturing Production

“We remote-control PQA systems on our production line via SNMP, and they run through a sequence of reference tests using different video formats to fully exercise our encoders and decoders.” Mike Sparks - Operational quality manager, Tandberg
As broadcast electronics products increase in complexity, better solutions are required for automated production testing.
The OmniTek LAB facilitates a fully automated production environment by providing video generation and analysis, all via SNMP control. The OmniTek PQA enables the picture quality to be compared with a golden reference and also offers SNMP control. For lossy video equipment, such as anything with an analogue path, and MPEG encoders and decoders, the degraded signal can be compared to the clean reference. The PQA measures signal to noise ratio and blocking artefacts to give a confidence measure beyond visual inspection,
Many customers have found this extremely useful for testing storage solutions as the PQA will pick up on even a single pixel error over a sequence of video. At HD resolutions, minor artefacts could otherwise go unnoticed.
